Pitts Wilson were appointed by Roco Forte Hotels to replace the existing chillers in what is Edinburgh’s most iconic and prestigious Hotel. The chillers serve the cooling load of the entire hotel and required new pipework connections into the existing main distribution systems.  The works involved the night-time closure of Priness Street, delivery, offloading and then craning into position of 5No Carrier Chiller Units into an extremely tight lightwell right outside the front entrance of the Hotel. All whilst the existing chiller plant remained fully operational. And the Hotel had paying guests in residence.

The works included all the required controls installations, electrical power requirements including adaptations to the Main Switch Panel.

On the back of this project we were the awarded the contract  for the MEP works  in connection with the creation of a number of Treatment Rooms in the Basement Spa area of the hotel adjacent to the existing Pool and Changing Facilities.

The New Treatment Room Works are ongoing but will be complete early in 2025.
